This bowl was crafted from an ancient Kauri root burr, sourced from a tree buried underground for around 32,000 years in Warkworth, New Zealand. The root formations create eye-like swirls in the timber, which are particularly prominent in this piece. There is also Kauri gum embedded in a small section of the bowl, which I’ve worked into the design.
Diameter: 540mm, Depth: 80mm, Weight 6.48kg
Wood: Ancient Kauri, with French polish finish
